THE SHORT ANSWER

Match the original cash stake, accepted price, market, declared result and applicable terms. Compare total return with total return, then subtract the complete stake to find profit or loss.

Identify the cash stake, the exact market and the applicable terms before comparing a settlement.

Start with the original receipt. An estimated return and the final settlement can refer to different scenarios.

  1. Identify exactly what was staked.

Check the amount, whether it was cash or a promotional stake, and whether the displayed amount was per part or the whole bet. For an ordinary each-way single, the two parts must both be included in total stake.

  2. Match the market and the result.

Record the selection, market, event period and declared outcome. A label such as “winner” is not enough to determine which event period or settlement rule was agreed.

  3. Read the terms that apply.

For each-way bets, identify the place fraction and number of places on the receipt. Look for any applicable deductions, dead heats, voids or special concessions. Do not assume another operator’s explanation describes your bet.

  4. Reproduce the supported calculation.

Use the each-way calculator only when its ordinary cash-single assumptions match. Compare total return with total return, and profit with profit. Note any rounding difference.

  5. Ask for the working if a difference remains.

Use the operator’s official support channel and ask which rule, inputs and adjustments were applied. Keep account details and documents out of public comments. Form & Field does not receive bet slips or adjudicate disputes.

The ordinary each-way split is described in Sky Bet’s explanation of each-way bets. Our mathematical model and rounding policy are documented in our methodology.

Check adjustments and market rules

Use the dead heat calculator for one winning part, the Rule 4 calculator for a confirmed winnings deduction, or the void selection calculator for an ordinary cash win accumulator. These are separate models, not adjustments silently included in the each-way calculator.

Read the settlement rules directory for postponements, retirements, event periods and place terms. Always resolve the market before calculating its return.
